File not found.
The reaction of most computer users when they get the dreaded "file not found" message, is to panic. Very often, actions taken in a state of panic will do nothing but make the situation a lot worse. It is much better to try to resist temptation and keep a cool head. Taking the precaution of knowing what you should do before disaster strikes will put you at an advantage. A good catch-all course of action when anything goes wrong on your computer would be to do absolutely nothing. It is the favorite advice of computer engineers everywhere, simply because the simplest actions on your hard drive may cause overwriting of vital data. All the time you're doing absolutely nothing, hopefully the situation cannot deteriorate any further.
Why File Not Found?
You may see a file not found message if you have accidentally deleted part of a program file. You could also see it if you have a virus that is corrupting your data. If you get the file not found message on a blue screen, then you are in more trouble than if you simply deleted a file by mistake, for example. This means that there is something causing a total failure of your operating system. Incidentally, while you're surfing the Internet, there are a number of scenarios where you might come across a "file not found" message. Happily, none of them are to do with anything that might be going on with your computer. These messages refer specifically to mishaps with the website you're trying to access, so you can ignore them completely.
